Calm is in, sleep deprivation is out!
No more frustrated parents desperately googling how to comfort a crying baby &
how to get baby to sleep longer at night...
Give yourself permission to make life easier with a baby.

Caring for a baby is hard, right?

It's not all sunshine & rainbows with your bundle of joy.

The struggle is real. Any parent will tell you this if they're being honest.

You may even feel guilty for talking about it since you're so grateful to have a baby.

Friends without kids often say they don't know if they want to have a family!
They love their life the way it is. They don't want to be tired & haggard like their friends who already have kids – or stuck at home on a strict schedule.

No time to rest. No time for yourself. Lucky if you can find the time to have a shower!

Juggling all the things can be completely overwhelming and exhausting.
Even if you're not sleep deprived, healing from childbirth, caring for other family members, working, breastfeeding, making your own baby food, feeling isolated, etc.

Even if you're a seasoned parent, every baby is different. It's hard to remember all the baby health things, especially all the important tips to help keep your baby content.

Then there's sleep deprivation... and parents not putting on their own oxygen masks first.

We all know sleep is important for our health.
Lack of sleep also contributes to baby blues & post partum depression.

Trends from studies on sleep deprivation for parents are not okay:

Up to 30% of children have sleep problems in their first 4 years.
This means less sleep for parents during this time too.

Sleep for parents hits a low about 3 months after birth.
Statistically this usually impacts women more.

You can expect up to 6 years of sleep deprivation after you have a baby.
Because stats say sleep doesn't fully recover to pre-pregnancy levels
until up to 6 years after the birth of your first child.

But it doesn't have to be this hard for you. Our goal is to help make sure it isn't!

We're passionate about reversing these trends and supporting parents one family at a time.
We offer all the must know baby health & wellness info and ideas in one place, with effective solutions to overcome all the day-to-day challenges parents face with babies & toddlers.
It's all about the best of all worlds – tips, traditional medicinals and natural remedies.

And when most parents suffer from the least sleep (3 months after birth), rest easy knowing our flexible sleep routine helps gently transition baby to a full night of uninterrupted
sleep with a focus on no tears and no sleep training
. No night nurse needed either.

Let us formally introduce you to the "Calm Baby Sleep Course™".

For support with your first baby or second, third... with a baby boy, baby girl or twins. If you breastfeed or formula feed for the first year. If your baby needs to feed every 1-2 hours after birth. It's gentle, it works, and it continues to get recommendations and referrals from doctors and parents – from working professionals to stay-at-home parents.

We can't wait to help make your life with a baby easier!

Creating a routine that works for your family with Calm Baby Sleep Course brings you more of these three things (without worrying about tears!):

“Though I'd read countless books on sleep training, I found the whole thing very overwhelming. Tereza and the Calmmother team helped streamline the process and provided an easy-to-follow program that actually workedOur daughter was sleeping 12 hours a night at 10 weeks old and our whole family has greatly benefited from such a wonderful schedule.”

You value sleep and don't want long term sleep deprivation. Especially parents who already know how bad the sleep deprivation can be.

You worked hard to create the life of your dreams before having kids... now you want to have it all and live the life of your dreams with kids.

You're busy so you want practical, effective solutions from experts and parents who've been through it before, without all the fluff.

Listening to a baby cry is heartbreaking & sleep training is terrible! You want to avoid tears and to keep your baby content as much as possible.

You want the key baby health info in one place so you know what to expect with your baby – and reminder for experienced parents!

You want a flexible routine to help make life with baby more predictable and manageable during the day and at night.

If you're expecting a baby & you think...

Overwhelmed, stressed or exhausted more than you want to admit (consult your healthcare provider about baby blues & PPD).

Like your days and nights are completely unpredictable, or if you need to extend the time between each feeding especially at night.

Like your heart may shatter the next time you hear your baby cry – and you just want to make sure your baby is content and tear free.

You're so busy and need practical, effective solutions from experts & parents who have been through it before – without all the fluff

Done with sleep deprivation  and you want or need to transition your baby to sleep longer at night (and through the night asap).

Or if you have a baby & you're feeling...

Then...

You're not alone!

Hi, I'm Tereza Fonda!

I live in Calgary, Canada with my love & our  blended family of six – one son & 3 daughters.

I'm a lawyer, an author, and creative entrepreneur passionate about parents living the life of their dreams with kids!

Sleep is integral to the health & wellness of parents, our families, our communities, and the world.

Health is freedom, amiright!?

I still remember feeling exhausted and having baby blues with my first baby. It was exhausting with my 2nd baby too just without the baby blues. Trying to manage all the things on my plate was overwhelming. Not mention sleep deprivation, healing from childbirth, and exclusively feeding both babies breast milk for 6 months.

It was incredible getting full night of sleep 3 months after the birth of both of my babies.

A predictable routine with light at the end of the sleep deprivation tunnel was everything! Time for myself to rest and focus on what mattered most to me was a big deal. So was the peace of mind knowing my babies were content and tear free.

As a lawyer it's no surprise I did A LOT of research when I was pregnant with my first baby. I was laid off during my first pregnancy which gave me the time to read and synthesize all the key info. Dr. Pam offered all the best baby health info & tips for overcoming major challenges parents face with babies.

12 weeks after the birth of baby #1, my baby girl and I were both sleeping through the night (she slept 10-12 and I slept 8-10). It worked even though she was born prematurely, had jaundice and I had to feed her every 1.5 hours at first. I was able to function as a new parent, exclusively breastfeed, and work full time in a new legal counsel role (8-14 hours a day). My baby blues went away too, likely because I was no longer sleep deprived.

After baby #2 was born, it was like clockwork with the exact same results. Having a full night of sleep 12 weeks after birth allowed me to care for my new baby, a toddler and their father (who had cancer at the time).

As my girls have grown, they still go to bed without a fuss and sleep 10-12 hours through the night uninterrupted. It's never a fight. Bedtime is nbd (which is the way it should be).

This Calm Baby program was life changing for my family and has been for others. I'm so excited to share it with you!

For years, I've seen how Calm Baby Sleep Routine has successfully helped families get more sleep for themselves while watching healthy, happy, and well-adjusted babies grow into healthy, creative, and caring toddlers and eventually school age children.

I joined this team because of the benefits I've observed from the sleeping and feeding program. It allows me to help more people than those I can only meet personally!

As a Naturopathic Physician with a particular passion for family wellness, I assist parents or soon to be parents of all ages and stages of life. My clinic offers naturopathic as well as midwifery care. The foundation of my family medical practice includes modalities such as: clinical nutrition, acupuncture, IV nutrient therapy, and aesthetic procedures. My practice involves a combination of science-based natural medicine with conventional medical therapeutics, and I have Pharmacy Prescriptive Authority.

I've broadened my medical practice with a myriad of extensive pediatric and obstetrical courses, trained as a Naturopathic doula, as well as volunteer work abroad with a number of medical organizations throughout the world, in Eastern Europe, Central America, and in India at various Ayurveda and Medical Clinics.

My focus is to live a balanced and preventative lifestyle and support my patients in doing the same.

This approach is a big focus of Calm Baby Sleep Course. The tips and health info from me are derived from my experiences as a doctor and as a parent.

I'm a Naturopathic Physician with a family practice at The Nest Family Wellness Centre in BC, Canada, where I live with my husband & son. My focus is to help parents live a balanced & preventative lifestyle for optimal family health!

Hi, I'm Dr. Pamela Smith, ND

Sit back with us & imagine a world where...

You can live the life of your dreams with kids – you don't need to skip a beat if you don't want to, travel is nbd & you have time focus on what matters to you.

Sleep training babies and children isn't required, and sleep regression doesn't feel like such an insurmountable task involving hours of crying!

All the tools you need are at your fingertips to help keep baby content & tear free including a list of natural & traditional remedies to help with informed choices.

Your baby is happy, healthy and tear free more often than not – goes to bed content within minutes of saying goodnight and wakes up in the morning cooing.

Bedtime isn't a fight or stressful. It's ndb with your baby or older kids, just part of your family's flexible daily routine. Your kids even put themselves down to sleep!

and no, it's not for every parent

possible for parents!

Sleep Course

Calm Baby

You may be a fit for Calm Baby Sleep Course if...

You or your partner are pregnant, or if you have a baby.

Your baby is a year or older.
You don't want a routine or predictability for your family.
It doesn't matter to you when your baby or child sleeps through the night.

Crying is nbd to you.

If you're a first time parent or parent-to-be then everything you need is all in one place. All the important reminders are there for experienced parents too. From baby health 101 to a flexible sleep routine and how to overcome all the big challenges.

You value your sleep and your family's sleep.

There's nothing like a good night of sleep, right!? But on the other side, there's nothing like months (or years) of sleep deprivation. We break down baby sleep into 4 phases so you can gently transition baby to sleep with our step-by-step routine by phase – and if you start within the first few weeks after baby is born (like some of us and our clients) then your family may get 8-10 hours through the night by 12 weeks which is life changing.

Even if you don't value sleep as much as some parents do, our routine offers predictability and flexibility for parents during the day and at night to make life with a baby more manageable, including ideas for your bedtime routine. We set it up so that it's easy to transition your baby to the type of routine they'll have when they go to childcare, preschool and Kindergarten. Create a routine that meets the needs of your family.

This may be a bit of a no brainer, especially when out in public and at night. We've dedicated a whole module to helping make sure baby is well-fed, rested, and comfortable. This includes checklists for the best remedies for things like teething, diaper rash, eczema & over 20 other challenges.

You prefer a routine or some predictability in your days & night.

You prefer your baby to be content and avoid crying if possible.

Calm Baby Sleep Course may not be a good fit for you if...

Your baby's already one year or older (or has serious health concerns).

You think sleep is overrated anyways.

Honestly, you might be a superhero! Keep in mind that Calm Baby Sleep Routine is just one module in the course. We offer so much more than that, so there's a good chance you'd still find value in all of the other modules. Check out the course syllabus below and see what you think.

We're all about creating value and we don't want to waste your time or your money! We really do have a lot of guidance on avoiding sleep regression & getting baby back on their routine if they get off track, as well as sleep training tips. But if your baby is a year old and isn't on a routine, isn't falling asleep on their own, and isn't sleeping through the night, you may need to break some big habits and do some serious sleep training. If you have another baby in the future and want to avoid sleep training and tears, our course may be a fit for you then!

If you'd never wake a sleeping baby even after a 3.5 hour nap during the day then this course may not be for you. But keep in mind that our routine is conducive to baby led or demand feeding – as well as if your healthcare provider says you need to feed baby every 1.5 or 2 hours. This is because of 1.5 hour feeding windows (which are pretty much necessary if you start our sleep routine with a newborn like we recommend as they sleep and feed more often than older babies). Again, we offer so much more than a sleep routine so check out the course syllabus below.

Fair enough. Check out the course syllabus below and see if there's any way we can support you save time. We'll be here if you need us!

Amazing! There may be an opportunity to work with us in the future, including if you're interested in becoming a Calm Baby Sleep Consultant or using our program with your clients. The more parents we can support the better. Visit our website for potential opportunities. Send us a note, we'd love to hear from you!

You don't want a routine or predictability during the day/night.

You'd prefer to figure it all out on your own.

You're already an expert.

What parents are saying

"Calmmother feeding and sleep program totally works!

I followed the schedule after my daughter was born and it worked so well. She is still a really good sleeper.

I will use it again if I have another baby. Thank you for sharing it!"

"This course teaches how to implement healthy sleep habits and techniques with your new baby from day one. The gentle routine was flexible for our family and made having a newborn enjoyable, even with 2 under 2. It helped to know when day & night feedings would be so we could fit in appointments, outings, 1 on 1 time with our son, cooking and cleaning for the family, and even Mom & Dad time! Our baby is so happy, gaining weight, hitting milestones and putting herself to sleep. I highly recommend doing this course before baby comes to know what to expect with a new baby."

"Your feeding and sleep program is incredible - an amazing resource for new moms and those of us who have forgotten everything from previous kiddos!"

"Yay, it works... more sleep, happier mom, less makeup!

Grateful for your efforts in putting this baby feeding and sleep guide together for other mums who simply have to work and nurture in tandem."

"There are so many things to consider when going through the feeding and sleep process and I am amazed you were able to condense it into such a useful, effective and easily referenced guide!"

"This program is amazing! I have been a nanny for 8 years and this sleeping and feeding method has worked quicker and much better than any other method or program I've tried. I highly recommend it!"

Mom of 1 & Nanny

"The Calmmother feeding and sleep program gave me the tools I needed to start my second child on an easy to follow sleeping and feeding schedule from birth that fulfilled both of our needs. It allowed me to set a schedule that I was in control of so that it worked with our family's activities rather than the other way around.

It was an empowering experience. I also found it to be more successful than other sleeping/schedule methods
that are out there that I tried and dropped with my first child, a boy..., this method helped set the foundation for good sleep habits for my daughter for life. I do not have to rock her to sleep or hold her finger until she dozes off, she chooses to lay back into her crib almost every nap and night without fail. This is something that we as parents cherish and marvel at, as do other caregivers who experience the same thing."

"I'm a Mother to three very adorable and very loud boys. They're all under the age of six, two of which are under two, only 15 months apart (yes, you can still get pregnant while you're breastfeeding!).

After trying many sleep training methods with my second child and none of them working, I knew I could not risk any more sleepless nights with my third. I used the feeding and sleep program with my third child and it worked. I don't think my baby would have slept through the night (9.5 hours) at 12 weeks old if I hadn't followed it.

The program allowed me to get my third child on a good sleep routine, giving me more time to spend with my other two children. It also allowed me to get some much-needed rest of my own!

Baby Routine

Step 2 - as early as weeks 3-7
Baby sleeps up to 6 hours uninterrupted at night.
You can follow the step-by-step routine and refer to module 4 to help overcome challenges.

Calm Baby Sleep Routine is a tested routine designed to ensure baby is happy, well fed and well rested, and that you also get the rest that you need. It's flexible, gentle and effective. And focused on no tears & no sleep training. Plus no night nurse needed!

Use the routine in a way that works best for you and your family. It can be used as a step-by-step guide. Or simply to get your baby on a daily routine that works best for your family.

It works with baby led/demand feeding, and if you need to feed baby every 1.5-2 hours at first. No early weaning is required – you can exclusively breastfeed.

The program tends to work better the earlier you start. But you should start when you & baby are ready. Results vary based on a variety of factors like baby health and consistency. Some parents have had success with baby sleeping longer earlier while other babies have taken a bit longer.

Helps avoid long term sleep deprivation, as well as tears and sleep training. And your family can have a flexible routine that allows for some predictability in the day & night.

It's truly revolutionary & life changing for parents and caregivers.

  The Challenges

The Calm Baby approach is simple: more comfort means less tears during the day and at night.

A baby won't be happy or content if they're not comfortable. It can also make babies less likely to fall asleep (or stay asleep) at nap time and bedtime. This can mean the difference between a break for parents vs. feeling helpless while holding an overtired, crying baby.

There are many reasons why a baby might be feeling unwell or uncomfortable... even if they have no health concerns or illness. And we don't need to tell you how important it is to know what's upsetting your baby.

We truly believe the value in each single module of this course is worth the price of the entire course. But this module is truly a must have for all parents with babies and young children!

Step 1 - Challenges to overcome
We go through all the day-to-day challenges topic by topic so it's quick and easy to find what you need. Most are based on common questions Dr. Pam receives from parents in her medical practice. We start by explaining the challenge or ailment and noting other important things.

How this module works...
We promote happier, healthier children and parents by discussing over 20 different ailments and other challenges parents commonly face with their babies and young children. We break it down by topic so you can easily access the info you need quickly. Most topics follow these 4 steps!

Step 2 - Remedies that work
A list of practical, effective solutions matters when you're baby is upset! Since every baby is different, what works for one won't work for them all.
To create each list we combine the best of all worlds – from traditional medicinals to all the natural remedies. We also include must know tips and ideas from parents who've tried and tested it all before!

Step 3 - Discussion of remedies and tips that work and why
Our focus is on preventing tears and maximizing comfort for baby. So where it's helpful we provide additional discussion on the effectiveness of different remedies and tips based on our personal experiences and the experiences of other parents.
